About Us
Health Advice Therapy (HAT) would be more appropriately valued as a new healthcare add-on
discipline that assists healthcare individuals in developing Action Plans to help patients/clients adhere to
wellness science.
Wellness is a multifaceted and intricate discipline that necessitates the collaborative efforts of healthcare
professionals and lay individuals in a well-balanced program. Such a program has already been developed that aims
to provide medical professionals with tools promoting adherence to the principles of wellness science.
We currently possess a measurement tool that generates Action Plans and produces a comprehensive (~35-page)
Report of Findings. Additionally, we have a Wellness Tutoring Workshop program that offers an instructor training
program to develop Wellness RISK Management lay-instructors. However, these instructors are clearly mandated to
work in the non-therapeutic field.
We anticipate the emergence of individuals who are not pathologically unwell but still seek therapeutic
assistance. The management of this cohort is the primary focus of this website. Many individuals whose lifestyle
does not trigger pathological processes may not necessitate psychological counselling. Those that do are are
addressed already by our healthcare system.
Health Advice Therapy differs from lifestyle coaching or mentoring; it is intended to be a specialized branch
that assists individuals in modifying their lifestyles to align with scientific principles.
The Wellness Progress Chart is a user-friendly one-page chart that visually tracks improvements in a
straightforward manner. It employs numerical representations to indicate the percentage of compliance with
scientific principles on various topics. Currently, 38 scores are allocated to this chart and are measured through
the measurement program.
In addition to the Self-Help self-reported lifestyles module, the chart provides a more comprehensive
nutritional assessment, a clinical module that allows individuals to select and assess crucial clinical indicators,
and a module known as the Pain Relief Diet, which caters to individuals experiencing pain who have already
undergone medical evaluation.
The wellness progress chart modular breakdown:
- Lifestyle assessments on five targeted wellness pillars, which are self-help and self-reported
- A more comprehensive self-help, self-reported nutritional assessment
- A set of pertinent, self-help, self-reported clinical indicators designed to provide registered healthcare
providers with a heads up
- A Pain Relief, Diet module measuring Dr. Victor Jean Ouellette’s (DC, MS) Pain Relief Diet protocols, which
are also included in the self-help, self-reported categories
- A statistical summary module offering several pertinent average breakdowns
At present, the Health Advice Therapy website has been designed to cater to healthcare professionals of various
specialties. Its primary objective is to provide the professional with information on patient wellness compliance
in a cost-effective and time-efficient manner. This information is presented through a self-help, self-reported
online questionnaire.
The comprehensive nature of this online questionnaire, coupled with the inherent unpredictability of human
behaviour, necessitates the supervision of a trained layperson to ensure its accurate completion. We acknowledge
that the Wellness RISK Management instructor tutoring program has been designed to address this specific
requirement.
Nevertheless, our present healthcare system does not adequately address a cohort of individuals who are already
under medical care but do not require psychological healthcare professionals. These individuals are left to
struggle with lifestyle and behavioural patterns that interfere with their compliance with the scientific evidence
on wellness. Addressing this cohort in a cost-effective manner is the objective of integrating health Advice
Therapy with Wellness RISK Management.
We are in the development phases and ready to launch Wellness RISK Management (WRM) as a new Wellness Model. We
recognise the value clinicians play in our community healthcare setting.
The term Wellness RISK was penned by Dr. Victor Jean Ouellette, DC, MS in May of 2017 with
the .com web site registered on September 21, 2017. The RISK concept was taken by Dr. Ouellette from the well
established heart RISK concepts with Dr. Ouellette referencing his early work in helping the CPR program being
established in the Southern Ontario area in the 1970s and 80s.
The web site ChronicDiseasePreventionStrategies.com was registered on April 28, 2018 to inform governments at
all levels. The WellnessRISKManagement.com web site was registered on July 22, 2019 by Dr. Ouellette to inform the
individual worker as a WRM client and facilitate the statistical gathering research program.
Early life experiences (at 15 years old) with food reactions, that went unrecognised by mainstream medicine,
prompted Dr. Ouellette’s lifelong interest in the FoodPainConnection and the Pain Relief Diet. Dr. Ouellette
recognised early that something was missing in healthcare. Eventually the primary focus came with Wellness RISK
Management in the Self-Help field where it became obvious that people could do the work themselves and in fact
needed to do the work themselves. They just needed a little help.
The measurement tools (30 mini questionnaires), were developed in the clinical setting and refined over the
years into the online Questionnaire program measurement protocol we see today. The original purpose was to inform
both the patient and the clinician. This can be seen in the structure of the measurement output in the Progress
Chart today. The Wellness RISK Management Tutoring Workshop program developed as an add-on that was necessary to
effect long term compliance with the Wellness science.
Today we see:
- Personal well-being driven by personal interest of the client
- The Promotion of Wellness Health
- Questionnaires + Basic Biometric Screening
- The Goal is to identify at-risk individuals for early intervention by the individual themselves
- Improved Wellness Balance and Resilience results from self directed efforts
The intervention is Self-Help driven with WRM Instructor guidance in Tutoring Workshops.
The Pilot Program for business is a Cost-Effective Employee Wellness Initiative.
The concept of a structured ‘Pain Relief Diet’ was first published by Dr. Victor Ouellette in 2002, eventually
emphasizing personalized elimination of inflammatory foods within a five-pillar wellness framework long before
inflammatory foods and anti inflammatory foods became common concepts in the media and science research. Dr.
Ouellette's work builds on the general principle that diet, movement, rest, spinal health, and mindset
influence systemic inflammation and pain, while introducing a specific focus in this model to create a self-help
framework entirely managed by the individual.
People without pain also want Wellness strategies, just with a different focus. That is easy to accommodate with
the present dual program of Measurement and Tutoring Workshop Instructor help for the client who may still be under
medical care or may be on their own. In either case these people need a form of help difficult to provide in the
health care setting. Consequently the advancement of disease remains problematic in our communities.
